know that bus riders are always concerned about bus accidents. I was
recently asked by an ninety-year old client of mine, “What are our
legislators doing to make busses safer?”

& San Diego Personal Injury Lawyer Looks At Causes of Bus Accidents
“You can rest a lot easier,” I told my client. “Help is on the way.”
“What new safety measures are then enacting?” my client asked.
“Well, for one thing, we’re going to make sure the bus drivers have
driving licenses.” I said jokingly, although in a recent crash of a
casino promotions bus the driver did not have a valid license to carry
passengers.
“Good idea,” my client said. “What about the fact some buses are
overloaded with young women in skimpy outfits.”
“They won’t be allowed to overload the busses anymore.”
“Rats,” my client said.
I studied my client and saw his mischievous grin. “The skimpy outfits
can stay.”
My client smiled. “What about those bus drivers who think they should
drag race all the time?”
“How fast does your bus driver go?” I asked.
“At least thirty,” my client said.
“They’ll have to obey the speed limits,” I said. “And if a police car is
chasing them, they’ll have to pull over.”
“That’s good, very good,” my client said.
“Sometimes I almost lose my teeth when they stop so suddenly,” my client
told me.
“Really?” I asked. “Perhaps the legislators will have the bus
maintenance records examined for braking ability. Have you considered a
stronger glue for your dentures?”
My client was distracted by a sixty something woman walking by and
didn’t hear me.
“Are they going to do anything about putting bathrooms on board?”
I shook my head.
“How do you feel about seat belts?” I asked
“Still can’t remember how they work,” my client said. “How come busses
don’t have flight attendants like the airlines do to explain how to use
those darn things?”
“I don’t know,” I said. “I’ll ask someone.”
“They don’t come around with free drinks or peanuts, did you know that?”
“They don’t do that on airplanes anymore either,” I said.
“Too many changes,” my client said. “Can’t even find a pay phone these
days when you want one.”
“Have you heard about cell phones?” I asked.
My client looked at me blankly. “Figures. Phones in the jail cells and
not a pay phone in sight.”
“So are you going to still keep riding the bus?” I asked.
“Well I’m certainly not about to try riding a
Harley at my age am I?” my client said smiling.
